The UI and UX of an app play such an important role in its success. These factors are key to delivering a program or service that is useful and engaging. A good UI/UX design can draw new users to your app and it is also what keeps them coming back.

As important as UI/UX design is, a mobile app design agency and individual app developers also need to recognize the fact that the trends are constantly changing.

What may have looked good a few years ago might look dated by today’s standards. New technologies may also affect the trends in smartphone app design.

Here are the UI/UX trends that will have the biggest impact in 2022.

Emoji Designs

Emoji can help you say more with less in your UI design, and boost the user experience among all demographics. More and more designers are integrating the emotional component into mobile interfaces that make the user experience more engaging and enjoyable. Today, in almost every popular application you will find emojis. And this is not only social applications, but we are also talking about applications that are in serious business such as finance, banking, e-commerce, etc. You can find emoji everywhere — onboarding screens, empty states, coach marks, dialogs, and even push notifications.

Glassmorphism is the latest trend in user interfaces and is rapidly gaining popularity. One of the more mainstream applications of this design appeared in Apple’s macOS Big Sur which rolled out in 2020. The Fluent Design System, innovated by Microsoft, employs Glass Morphism as well.

While neomorphic elements remained rather eye candies on Dribbble, for many reasons, one of them being poor accessibility, glassmorphic elements are getting more popular by the day.

These glass-looking translucent elements provide a well-defined hierarchy on an interface. They do it by mimicking depth that helps users differentiate what is in the front and what is further back on the screen. Yet it doesn’t look that overwhelming.  Also, the new macOS update called macOS Big

Sur implemented this style too

Storytelling

The technical side of UI/UX design will always be important, but it is hard to beat a good story. You will find a lot of apps that perform well from a technical standpoint, but they don’t have a story to connect with the user. While storytelling has been a part of UX design for some time, it is only going to increase in importance in the coming years.

When designing an app, you need to consider the app's purpose and what you hope to offer users. If you can integrate this with a story that works with the purpose of the app, you will be able to deliver an experience that is more engaging.

Artificial Intelligence

Today, every business sector and industry is incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) to automate processes, improve efficiency, and reduce costs, including the industry of digital transformation, which is using artificial intelligence specifically to improve the user experience.

AI algorithms simplify and ease out the process of improvised user experience by utilizing the information derived from revising user behaviors. This settles down in more personalized designs that are able to provide, a better individual user experience.

Staying up to date on the current UI/UX trends will help you to develop the best app possible. However, it isn’t just about following the trends that are hot when you develop the app – what is hot today might be stale tomorrow. Stay aware of how trends change and update your app to meet the demands of users as the market evolves.

One of the hottest design trends of 2021 is going to be 3D design. Through websites and applications, clients are moving towards offering an immersive experience to their users. The 3D design has depth, shadows, lighting, and textures, which bring users an experience closer to the real world.

Micro Interaction

Pin on UI/UX Design Inspiration

While design solves universal problems, micro-interactions are the delightful moments your users have while using the product. These tiny enticing moments add incredible value in offering a humane experience in a true sense to the end-users. And they are not just visual elements, they work the best when mixed with the user's action triggers.
